My great-uncle, Piotr John Jacobs(Jakubowski),
was born on April 28, 1898 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He was the fourth child and 3rd oldest son of Anastazja and
Johann Jakubowski. His full name is pronounced PYAWTR, but his friends and family called him Peter or Pete.
He married Olevia(O-LAY-vee-a) M. Gabriell on June
27, 1921. They had six children. They moved to Geneva, New York in the 1940's and lived there the rest of their
lives.
Piotr was a machine inspector at U.S. Radiator Company
and had also been a chaffauer for Fleischmann Yeast Company before he got married. I found a World War I draft registration
card for him, but I don't know if he served during the war.
He died on July 5, 1978 and is buried in the St.
Mary's Maternity Cemetery in West Wyoming, Pennsylvania.
